LinuxConf Europe 2007 Conference and Tutorials
Sunday 2nd - Wednesday 5th September University Arms Hotel, Cambridge, England |
|
Call For PapersLinuxConf Europe is a new conference for linux developers organised as a collaboration between the UK Unix User Group and the German Unix User Group. It will take place at the University Arms Hotel in Cambridge from Sunday 2nd September to Tuesday 4th September 2007, immediately preceding the invitation-only Kernel Summit (organised by USENIX) at the same venue. LinuxConf Europe will consist of two or more streams of talks and tutorials alongside a small exhibition. We invite speakers on any aspect of Linux development and use. The programme aims to cover a variety of topics, including kernel and desktop development, tools, applications, networking, security, performance and case-studies of linux deployments. Any topic likely to be of interest to Linux developers and enthusiasts will be considered. In view of the Kernel Summit following the event, we anticipate devoting a significant proportion of the programme to the linux kernel. We are also particularly interested in receiving papers that focus on the historical development of computing in the Cambridge area. Conference presentationsMost presentations last about 45 minutes, including 5-10 minutes for questions and answers. If you would like more or less time for your presentation, please indicate this when you submit your abstract. Conference papersThe conference requires non-exclusive publication rights to papers, including the publication of audio and video proceedings. Copyright is normally retained by the author. While original papers are preferred, up-to-date versions of papers delivered recently elsewhere may be acceptable if there is unlikely to be much audience overlap. Papers and slides will be published on the conference website after the event. TutorialsHalf-day tutorials consist of two 90-minute sessions. Full-day tutorials consist of four 90-minute sessions. Printed copies of tutorial notes and slides are normally provided to attendees. Permission to distribute electronic copies to attendees and publication on the conference website after the event is not a prerequisite, but please indicate if you do not wish tutorial material to be published when submitting your abstract. AbstractsAbstracts for the main conference or tutorial programme should be accompanied by a short biography, and ideally should be between 250 and 500 words long. Abstracts should be submitted to the conference organisers electronically through this form. We shall acknowledge all submissions.
Particular queries should be sent either to the UKUUG office, or to the programme committee, cambridge@linuxconf.eu.
